Ovation Promotes Dan Casciato to Vice President, National Accounts
Ovation, the only multi-platform network dedicated to arts culture, has promoted Dan Casciato to VP, National Accounts. Casciato was Eastern Region Vice President. The announcement was made today by Ellen Schned, SVP, Distribution, Ovation.
Casciato joined Ovation in 2006, in preparation for the relaunch of the channel in June 2007. Since that time, the channel has grown from its base of 5 million subscribers to 43 million subscribers today.
“Dan has been instrumental in the growth of the network since its relaunch almost five years ago. He was the driving force behind one of the company’s most significant distribution agreements, which added a million subscribers in the Chicago market, along with many other key launches,” said Schned. “His leadership, experience and energy is recognized throughout the industry and we’re delighted to announce this well-deserved promotion.”
With 29 years of service in the cable television industry, Casciato began his career selling cable service door-to-door for Cablenet, a suburban Chicago cable system in the early 1980s. He then moved on to Showtime Networks where he managed various operations and marketing functions. After that, he worked as District Director of Marketing for Continental Cablevision in the Chicago metro market and Regional Vice President of USA Networks/NBC Universal.
Casciato is a member of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) and has served on the organization’s advisory board and membership committee and helped to develop CTAM chapters. In 2009, he was honored as a Cable Pioneer by the NCTA.
