Ovation Adds 2.2 Million Subs in First Half of 2011

Recent Launches Completed with Comcast, GCI and Shentel Communications; Verizon FiOS Renews Agreement

CABLE SHOW, Chicago, IL – June 13, 2011   At this year’s Cable Show, Ovation, the only multi-platform network dedicated to arts culture, is celebrating impressive  distribution growth for the first half of the year.  The indie network has added 2.2 million subs since January, with recent launches in new markets with Comcast, GCI and Shentel Communications, as well as renewing its distribution agreement with Verizon FiOS.   The announcement was made today by Ovation SVP, Distribution, Ellen Schned.

Comcast has launched Ovation on its systems in Cherry Hill, NJ; Savannah, GA; Charleston, SC; and Orlando, FL. Comcast in Nashville will launch Ovation on June 30.  Meanwhile, roll outs continue on Comcast in Atlanta, Florida, Boston and New England.

Ovation HD launched on GCI in Alaska on June 6 and will launch on Comcast  systems in the city of Chicago on June 22.

Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (“Shentel”) recently launched Ovation in Farmville and Keysville, VA and plans to add Ovation to all its remaining systems as upgrades are completed.

In addition, Ovation has completed a long-term distribution renewal agreement with telco provider Verizon FiOS.

“2011 is already a banner year for Ovation, thanks in large part to the continued support of our distribution partner Comcast,” said Schned.  “We are also thrilled to welcome Shentel to the family and to provide Comcast customers in Chicago and GCI viewers the arts in brilliant HD.   And we need to thank Verizon FiOS for their renewed, long-term commitment to the arts.  We anticipate continued growth for both our standard and high-definition services through the end of the year.”

“Ovation’s steady growth proves that viable independents, who offer up non-     duplicative services that serve a national and local need, can succeed,” said Charles  Segars, CEO, Ovation.

Ovation’s boost in distribution comes just as the network is premiering its July     programming event “American Revolutionaries:  THE HITMAKERS,” a three-week stunt featuring some of pop music’s most-influential artists.  The network has     also obtained exclusive off-network rights to seasons 6-8 of the smash dance  competition show SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, which premieres August 5.
