Melanie Schiff
Melanie Schiff is a photographer whose work is inspired by music, nature, and personal stories. Born in 1977, Schiff has used herself as a subject, as well as others, to capture moments of reflection or to reveal an individual's story. She transfered from Colorado College to New York University's School of the Arts for her BFA, and then received her MFA from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2002. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Vedanta Gallery in Chicago; Galeria Jose Pepin Mendez in Puerto Rico; Kavi Gupta Galleries in Chicago, New York, Berlin, and Basel; Modern Culture in New York; Placemaker Gallery in Miami; and, the Glarie Haus Schneider in Karlsruhe, Germany.
