Singing hopefuls from all walks of life transform themselves from singing in the shower to performing opera on stage in the first season of "Bathroom Divas: So You Want To Be A Soap Star?" After a cross-country search for raw operatic talent, six finalists are hand-picked to participate in an extensive opera boot camp and one of the protégés ultimately wins the title of Bathroom Diva. After a call for submissions, judges Mary Lou Fallis (soprano professor/comedienne), Tom Diamond (opera director/drama coach), Daniel Lichti (bass-baritone/professor) and Liz Upchurch (pianist/vocal coach) travel to Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax to audition hundreds of opera-star wannabes. From this country's deep talent pool, six finalists are selected to take part in an extensive three-week opera boot camp in Toronto. In this episode, one of the "divas" falls ill, and another cannot commit to memorizing his/her selected song and cracks under pressure in front of guest judges Gage Averill (Dean of the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto) and Jean Stilwell (mezzo soprano).
