(2003) Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig American poet Sylvia Plath and British poet Ted Hughes meet at Cambridge University and marry in 1956. Hughes’ success at the time left Sylvia feeling insecure about her own work. She later endures a miscarriage and for years deals with the emotional pain caused by her husband’s infidelities. Once Plath and Hughes separate, she is able to use her poetry as a means of therapeutic confession. However, Plath’s writing could not cure her depression, which culminated in her 1963 suicide.
