Migrant workers Lennie and Geroge have been best friends since childhood. Lennie, a gentle giant, has been mentally disabled for years. George has been not only Lennie’s friend, but his guardian, keeping him out of trouble. Traveling unemployed through Depression-era California, the men are happy to accept a job at Tyler Ranch. However, it soon becomes apparent that Lennie’s mental disabilities may make him a poor candidate for the job, especially when he starts an ill-fated friendship with the supervisor’s wife.
