After the town of New Burbage loses its Shakespearean Festival's artistic director to a horrible accident, his former protégé Geoffrey Tennant is asked to step into his shoes. Geoffrey unwittingly agrees, but what the cast doesn't know is that 7 years prior, Geoffrey suffered a nervous breakdown and was committed to a mental institution when his production of Hamlet turned into a disaster of epic proportions. Now, Geoffrey promises New Burbage a triumphant new version of Hamlet, but will the backstage jealousies, eccentric personalities and pressures of the stage threaten his sanity once again?
