The initiative is part of the independent network\u2019s national arts advocacy platform called <a href=\"https:\/\/ovationtv.com\/standforthearts\/\">Stand for the Arts<\/a> and has committed $10,000 to support Atlas Arts, which fosters and presents stellar art in theatre, dance, music, vocal and choral work, spoken word and more in the H Street, Northeast community of Washington, D.C. The announcement was made yesterday by Sol Doten, SVP, Content Distribution and Marketing, Ovation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stand for the Arts Awards<\/strong> are granted based on the following criteria: empowering the community they service, building strategic partnerships in their community network through volunteerism, giving, and sponsorship and programs that fall within.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOvation is committed to advocating for organizations that provide access to the arts for all,\u201d said Mr. Doten. \u201cWe greatly appreciate the grassroots work Atlas Arts and Comcast are doing in the Northeast community of Washington, D.C.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComcast is proud to partner with Ovation TV to present its Stand for the Arts award to Atlas Arts,\u201d said Mary McLaughlin, Senior Vice President, Comcast\u2019s Beltway Region. \u201cWe look forward to continuing to work with these organizations to create positive impacts for the arts and the communities of Washington, D.C.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Stand for the Arts and the Stand for the Arts Awards, visit:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.standforthearts.com\">www.standforthearts.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Award Recognizes Organization\u2019s Commitment to the Arts in Northeast D.C.
