Starring Golden Globe winner <strong>Gabriel Byrne<\/strong>, Emmy nominee <strong>Charles Dance<\/strong>, and Oscar nominee <strong>Ruth Negga<\/strong>, the series follows both Australian crime drama <em>The Code<\/em> and British mystery series <em>Agatha Christie\u2019s Partners in Crime<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Secret State<\/em><\/strong> is based on the Chris Mullins novel <em>A Very British Coup<\/em> and explores the relationship between a democratically elected government, big business, and the banks.<strong> Gabriel Byrne<\/strong> stars as Deputy Prime Minister Tom Dawkins, who&#8217;s thrust to the fore by catastrophic events, and ends up forced to take on the might of the Establishment. <strong>Charles Dance<\/strong> stars as John Hodder MP, the Chief Whip, while <strong>Ruth Negga<\/strong> stars as intelligence analyst Agnes Evans.<\/p>\n<p>Episode descriptions are below:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Episode 1 airs Saturday, September 12 at 7pm ET \/ 4pm PT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the suspicious death of the Prime Minister in a plane crash, the understated political ambitions of Tom Dawkins (<strong>Gabriel Byrne<\/strong>) are tested as heavyweights Ros Yelland (<strong>Sylvestra Le Touzel<\/strong>) and Felix Durrell (<strong>Rupert Graves<\/strong>) vie for the top job.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Episode 2 airs Saturday, September 19 at 7pm ET \/ 4pm PT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following his shock election victory, Tom Dawkins (<strong>Gabriel Byrne<\/strong>) launches an inquiry into the toxicology anomalies at the blast in Scarrow.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Episode 3 airs Saturday, September 26 at 7pm ET \/ 4pm PT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following revelations about covert drone fuel production in Scarrow, Tom Dawkins (<strong>Gabriel Byrne<\/strong>) is in the center of a political storm.
