SoundBites Awarded $15,000 Stand for the Arts Award to Support Its Local Efforts in Columbia<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spectrum today announced SoundBites will receive $15,000 through the 2021-2022 Stand For The Arts Awards, a partnership with Ovation TV that recognizes local arts, cultural and educational organizations and programs. Since the initiative started in 2017, Ovation TV and Spectrum have given out 50 awards totaling $500,000 towards art education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy increasing access to the arts and arts education, SoundBites is doing outstanding work to enrich the lives of residents of Columbia,\u201d said Adam Falk, Senior Vice President, State Government Affairs for Charter Communications, Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand of Internet, TV, Mobile and Voice services. \u201cOur support of this initiative is yet another avenue for Spectrum to help make a positive impact in the communities it serves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very fortunate to have great sponsors like Ovation and Charter Communications,\u201d added Hobart Trotter, Board Chairman of Soundbites. \u201cOur goal from day one has been to bridge the gap for students who don\u2019t have the resources or access to purchase musical instruments and instruction. This grant will help us put more instruments in the hands of aspiring young musicians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SoundBites is a Columbia-based nonprofit organization. The award will enable SoundBites to grow its mission to support and inspire underprivileged children to discover and develop their hidden musical gifts and talents through access to musical instruments and proper instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SoundBites is one of 15 organizations that will receive support in Spectrum markets across the country. Select arts organizations are awarded Stand For The Arts contributions based on the following criteria: support of creative\/artistic communities via economic and\/or mental health recovery connected programs, commitment to accessibility and equity in the arts, and advocacy for underserved populations in their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
