Throughout the month, Ovation will debut season 11 of <em>The Artful Detective <\/em>and new series <em>X Company<\/em>, plus the broadcast premieres of indie films <em>Marjorie Prime <\/em>and <em>Manifesto.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the true story of Camp X, a top-secret Allied spy training facility in Lake Ontario, <strong><em>X Company<\/em><\/strong> follows the stories of five highly skilled young recruits, torn from their ordinary lives and trained to conduct one risky mission after another to help Allied forces change the world. The series stars <strong>\u00c9velyne Brochu<\/strong> (<em>Orphan Black<\/em>), <strong>Jack Laskey<\/strong> (<em>Endeavour<\/em>), <strong>Hugh Dillon<\/strong> (<em>Flashpoint<\/em>, <em>Continuum<\/em>), <strong>Warren Brown<\/strong> (<em>Luther<\/em>), <strong>Dustin Milligan<\/strong> (<em>Dirk Gently\u2019s Holistic Detective Agency<\/em>, <em>Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em>, <em>90210<\/em>), <strong>Connor Price<\/strong> (<em>Being Human<\/em>) and <strong>Lara Jean Chorostecki<\/strong> (<em>Designated Survivor<\/em>, <em>Hannibal<\/em>). <strong><em>X Company<\/em><\/strong> will premiere on <strong><u>Monday, February 19, at 10PM ET.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Artful Detective<\/em><\/strong>\u2019s twist-filled season 10 finale saw the futures of Detective Murdoch (<strong>Yannick Bisson<\/strong>) and the heroes of Station House No. 4 in jeopardy amidst a corruption investigation gone awry. Season 11 will pick up with the aftermath of the finale\u2019s events that left the lives of Murdoch\u2019s beloved Dr. Julia Ogden (<strong>H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Joy<\/strong>), Inspector Brackenreid (<strong>Thomas Craig<\/strong>) and Constables George Crabtree (<strong>Jonny Harris<\/strong>), Henry Higgins (<strong>Lachlan Murdoch<\/strong>), and Slugger Jackson (<strong>Kristian Bruun<\/strong>) at stake and their fates unknown. Season 11 storylines will feature a number of Canadian and international historical figures, including physician William Osler and Helen Keller, the return of artist Tom Thomson, President Theodore Roosevelt, and Alexander Graham Bell. Season 11 of <strong><em>The Artful Detective <\/em><\/strong>will air on <strong><u>Saturday, February 3, at 10PM ET.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Directed by Michael Almereyda, <strong><em>Marjorie Prime <\/em><\/strong>is a film based on Jordan Harrison\u2019s Pulitzer Prize-nominated play about an ailing 86-year-old woman\u2019s interaction with a holographic projection of her late husband. As Marjorie\u2019s \u201cPrime\u201d requires information from her and her family to develop a more complex understanding of his history, each family member begins to develop ever diverging accounts of their own lives and history. With rave reviews for performances given by <strong>Lois Smith<\/strong>, <strong>Jon Hamm<\/strong>, <strong>Geena Davis<\/strong> and <strong>Tim Robbins<\/strong>, the film has been also lauded for shining a light on the world of artificial intelligence and our concepts of morality. <strong><em>Marjorie Prime<\/em><\/strong> will have its broadcast premiere on <strong><u>Sunday, February 4, at 7PM ET.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Manifesto <\/em><\/strong>is a feature film based on the multi-screen film installation written, produced and directed by Julian Rosefeldt, which features Academy Award-winning actress <strong>Cate Blanchett<\/strong> in 13 different roles performing various manifestos.
