Groundswell, Boch Center, and Urban Arts Partnership Are Among the Latest Organizations to Join the Stand For The Arts Coalition<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Los Angeles, CA: Ovation, America\u2019s only Arts Network, has announced that 13 new non-profit arts and culture organizations have joined its Stand For The Arts<\/a> Coalition to raise awareness, protect access, and encourage action on behalf of the arts and culture. Since the coalition was established in 2017, over 50 prominent arts organizations, arts education institutions and artists have lent their support.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe arts aren\u2019t just vital to the well-being of our communities and the healthy development of our children, they\u2019re also an economic powerhouse. Arts and culture contribute more than $700 billion annually to the U.S. economy. Our Stand For The Arts coalition members know this well and recognize the importance of protecting arts programs throughout the country. We are delighted and excited that this coalition continues to grow and invite others to stand for the arts,\u201d said Liz Janneman, EVP of Network Strategy, Ovation.<\/p>\n

Among the distinguished organizations that have recently joined the Stand For The Arts coalition are:<\/p>\n

Artspace<\/a> – Located in Raleigh, NC, Artspace is a visual arts center inspiring innovation through opportunities to experience the creative process and engage with artists. Artspace provides residencies and exhibitions for artists at all stages in their careers and educational programming for children and adults.<\/p>\n

BAAD! Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance<\/a> – The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance creates, produces, presents, and supports the development of cutting edge and challenging works in contemporary dance and all creative disciplines which are empowering to women, Latinos and other people of color, and the LGBTQ community.<\/p>\n

Boch Center<\/a> – The Boch Center is a non-profit innovator and guardian of Boston\u2019s historic Wang and Shubert Theatres, providing arts, entertainment, cultural, and educational experiences to the Greater Boston community.<\/p>\n

Bronx Council on the Arts<\/a> –\u00a0 A pioneering advocate for cultural equity, the Bronx Council on the Arts nurtures the development of a diverse array of artists and arts organizations, and builds strong cultural connections in and beyond The Bronx.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Arts Council<\/a> – Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) is the borough’s leading nonprofit organization supporting artists and cultural groups in all disciplines, serving as a catalyst that helps Brooklyn\u2019s vibrant arts community grow and thrive.<\/p>\n

Creative Action<\/a> – Creative Action is the largest arts education organization in Central Texas, inspiring and\u00a0educating youth through the transformative power of creative expression, social and emotional learning, and social justice education.<\/p>\n

DreamYard<\/a> – DreamYard collaborates with Bronx youth, families, and schools to build pathways to equity and opportunity through the arts.<\/p>\n

Groundswell<\/a> – Groundswell is a NYC-based organization that engages youth in creative processes at the intersection of arts education, youth development, and social justice to inspire community engagement and social change.<\/p>\n

H+ I Hip Hop Dance Conservatory<\/a> – Founded\u00a0by\u00a0Artistic\u00a0Director\u00a0Safi\u00a0A.\u00a0Thomas,\u00a0H+\u00a0|\u00a0The\u00a0Hip-Hop\u00a0Dance\u00a0Conservatory\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0multi-platformed, 28-year old NGO, with consultative status on ECOSOC at the UN since 2017, with the mission to build\u00a0longevity\u00a0and sustainability for the\u00a0global dance community through its 6 pillars:\u00a0Pedagogy,\u00a0Repertory,\u00a0Advocacy,\u00a0Medical Research,\u00a0Infrastructure, and\u00a0Design.<\/p>\n

Long Island Arts Alliance<\/a> \u2013 Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA) is an alliance of and for the region\u2019s not-for-profit arts, cultural, and arts education organizations. LIAA promotes awareness of and participation in Long Island\u2019s world-class arts and cultural institutions.<\/p>\n

Nassau County Museum of Art<\/a> – Housed in a mansion on 145 glorious acres of nature preserve with a world-class sculpture park, the Nassau County Museum of Art is the cultural hub of Long Island, hosting six exciting exhibitions a year\u00a0and art classes for all ages, concerts, films, lectures, and events.<\/p>\n

OASIS Center International<\/a> – OASIS Center International exists to positively impact youth through replicable arts mentoring programs and to enhance the skills of local artists through community engagement.<\/p>\n

Urban Arts Partnership<\/a> – For over 25 years, UAP has improved academic outcomes, graduation rates, artistic growth, social\/emotional learning, and community engagement through an arts integrated approach to education in and beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Boch Center joins the Stand For The Arts coalition members in their mission to raise awareness and protect access to the arts. By continuing to champion the arts locally and nationally, we aim to encourage support of our free arts education programs and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live a creative life,\u201d said Josiah A. Spaulding, Jr., president and CEO, Boch Center.<\/p>\n

Low income students who participate in the arts are twice as likely to graduate from college compared to those with no arts education.
