Portland, Maine: <\/strong>Ovation, America\u2019s only arts network, will join Spectrum to recognize and award Mayo Street Arts $10,000 as part of their Stand for the Arts <\/em>joint initiative, which is dedicated to supporting local arts, cultural and educational organizations. Ovation and Spectrum will highlight this award on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 11:30 a.m., at Mayo Street Arts, located at 10 Mayo Street in Portland.<\/p>\n

The award will help Mayo Street Arts further its mission to engage area youths of diverse cultural communities in the visual, performing, and literary arts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe partnered with Spectrum here in Portland to recognize Mayo Street Art\u2019s outstanding work as a highly creative arts organization and a key contributor to the community and the local economy,\u201d said Sol Doten, Vice President of Content Distribution and Marketing for Ovation<\/strong>. \u201cSpectrum has been a great partner and supporter of Ovation and we are extremely pleased they joined us in Portland and across the country for our Stand for the Arts Awards program.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re proud to stand with Ovation to salute Mayo Street Arts for its innovative programming in Portland,\u201d said<\/strong> Camille Joseph-Goldman, Regional Vice President of Governments Affairs at Charter. <\/strong>\u201cMayo Street Arts and all of this year\u2019s Stand for the Arts Awards honorees, truly enrich the communities they serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are beyond excited to have the opportunity to highlight the unique work of Mayo Street Arts in accepting this award,\u201d said Blainor McGough, Co-founder and Executive Director of Mayor Street Arts.<\/strong> \u201cThis award directly impacts MSA\u2019s mission of providing a center for the arts that is vibrant, safe, and inspiring, and engaging artists and youth of diverse cultural communities in the visual, performing, and literary arts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stand for the Arts <\/em>grant recipients are chosen based on three criteria: Level of community outreach and engagement, ability to create inclusive access to artistic programming, and innovative approach to arts education and skills development.<\/p>\n

In addition to the monetary donation, Spectrum will also run public service announcements to highlight its Stand for the Arts<\/em> partnership with Ovation and reinforce the value local arts organizations bring to communities across the country.<\/p>\n
