Los Angeles, CA: Ovation TV, America’s only arts network, has announced the world premiere date of the new season of Inside the Actors Studio. The network, committed to presenting an exciting and diverse lineup of talent to discuss the craft of acting, is proud to bring back this award-winning master class series to its dedicated fans as well as to a new generation of viewers. Inside the Actors Studio will premiere on Sunday, October 13 at 10pm ET / 7pm PT.

The incomparable James Lipton can never be replaced, so Ovation and The Actors Studio have curated an impressive roster of multiple hosts to engage with the guests and the students of The Actors Studio MFA program at Pace University. Currently, confirmed episodes for the new season include Jane Lynch (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) interviewing David Oyelowo (Selma) and The Actors Studio co-president Alec Baldwin interviewing Hollywood legend Henry Winkler, hot off his Emmy-winning turn as Gene Cousineau on HBO’s Barry.

“As an independent television network dedicated to celebrating and supporting all forms of arts and culture, Ovation is perfect as the new home for Inside the Actors Studio,” stated Scott Woodward, EVP of Programming and Production, Ovation. “We plan to honor the legacy of James Lipton’s master class while also exploring the craft with eclectic, talented guests.”

“The Actors Studio is excited to continue the legacy of our MFA Program’s master class series Inside the Actors Studio that resides at Pace University with Ovation TV,” said Alec Baldwin. “We continue to delve into the craft of acting with a diverse roster of fascinating guests and hosts, both enduring and up-and-coming. Ovation has always been a great place to celebrate the arts.”

The series will be filmed in NYC at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University and at the Loreto Theater at the Sheen Center.

Legacy episodes to air on Ovation leading up to the October 13 premiere will include Paul Newman, Robin Williams, Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, George Clooney, Halle Berry, Jim Carrey, Bradley Cooper, and Brad Pitt.

New episodes of Inside the Actors Studio are being produced by Triage Entertainment.

About The Actors Studio

Founded in 1947 by Elia Kazan, Cheryl Crawford and Robert Lewis, The Actors Studio thrives today as a unique theatre workshop where professional actors, playwrights and directors gather together to work on their craft in private. Through moderated sessions, workshops and readings, The Actors Studio offers its members a dynamic, creative atmosphere, as well as a safe haven away from commercial pressures. In 1994, then president Paul Newman led the creation of a new, separate 3-year MFA Program that teaches the work done at The Actors Studio based upon exercises and techniques developed earlier by Lee Strasberg. James Lipton became the academic Dean of this program. Lipton then created the seminar for the MFA students and called it INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO.
