The Halcyon Debuts in the US Monday Nights This Fall Only on Ovation
Los Angeles, CA – August 18, 2017 Ovation TV, America’s only arts network, will air the U.S. premiere of the critically acclaimed drama series The Halcyon on Monday, October 2 at 10pm ET. The stylish drama produced by Left Bank Pictures (Outlander, The Crown) is the story of a bustling and glamorous five-star hotel at the center of London society and a world at war. Set in 1940, the series shows London life through the prism of war and the impact it has on families, politics, relationships and work across every social strata, and all set to a soundtrack of the music of the era.
A hit in the UK that critics put on par with first-rate period dramas like Downton Abbey, and featuring original music from multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum, The Halcyon stars Steven Mackintosh (Luther), Olivia Williams (Manhattan), Matt Ryan (Constantine) and Hermione Corfield (Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur).

Episode 1 – Monday, October 2 at 10pm ET
Lord Hamilton (Alex Jennings) returns to the hotel just as a scandal threatens to engulf it. A mysterious American guest arrives and Garland (Steven Mackintosh) must reckon with unwanted visitors. Freddie (Jamie Blackley) returns to the hotel with a surprise for Emma (Hermione Corfield).
Episode 2 – Monday, October 9 at 10pm ET
The hotel suffers the aftershocks of change. Lady Hamilton (Olivia Williams) and Garland (Steven Mackintosh) go to war, but this may be the least of his troubles. Freddie (Jamie Blackley) must face up to his responsibilities while Emma (Hermione Corfield) and Betsey (Kara Tointon) hit the town.
Episode 3 – Monday, October 16 at 10pm ET
Upon the fall of France, guests flood into the hotel, including one who catches Lady Hamilton’s (Olivia Williams) eye. When Max (Nico Rogner) faces hostility from the staff, Emma (Hermione Corfield) goes out on a limb to defend him… and immediately regrets it.
Episode 4 – Monday, October 23 at 10pm ET
War drawers closer. Joe (Matt Ryan) is offered the opportunity of a lifetime, but finds himself unexpectedly torn. Betsey’s (Kara Tointon) mother comes for a surprise stay, leaving Sonny (Sope Dirisu) unsettled. Freddie (Jamie Blackley) experiences the realities of the skies for the first time.
Episode 5 – Monday, October 30 at 10pm ET
Lady Hamilton (Olivia Williams) is in the mood for adventure, and The Halcyon hosts a society wedding. Emma (Hermione Corfield) must step up to oversee it, but trouble is brewing in the air. Will it reach Garland (Steven Mackintosh) and Peggy (Liz White) over in the East End? And how will staff cope when it reaches the hotel?
Episode 6 – Monday, November 6 at 10pm ET
The Halcyon struggles on asThe Blitz rages and our guests experience lockdown: Joe (Matt Ryan) and Emma (Hermione Corfield) outside the hotel, and the guests in the basement. Lucian (Charles Edwards) and Lady Hamilton (Olivia Williams) get close, and Toby (Edward Bluemel) confronts his confusion. Has anybody seen Sonny (Sope Dirisu) and Betsey (Kara Tointon)?
Episode 7 – Monday, November 13 at 10pm ET
The Halcyon recovers from tragedy. Adil (Akshay Kumar) must deal with a terrible secret. The hotel comes under increasing pressure from the police. As Emma (Hermione Corfield) and Joe (Matt Ryan) edge closer together, Freddie (Jamie Blackley) returns.
Episode 8 – Monday, November 20 at 10pm ET
The Halcyon celebrates its 50th anniversary. Lucian (Charles Edwards) struggles to keep things in order as pressure mounts. Garland (Steven Mackintosh) and Lady Hamilton (Olivia Williams) find a cause to unite over, and Emma (Hermione Corfield) must finally make a choice.
