Shelley V. Worrell founded “Caribbeing” to bring cultural programming to Brooklyn (Flatbush), NY (aka Little Caribbean). At least 20 percent of Flatbush’s population is Caribbean, and Worrell saw a need for culturally relevant experiences in the city.
Caribbeing programming has traveled to the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA), the Queens Museum, the Studio Museum in Harlem, El Museo del Barrio, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Tribeca Film Festival, to name a few.
