TRAVEL TO DISTANT LANDS WITH NEW SERIES PREMIERE ON JOURNY IN NOVEMBER 2021: SPECIAL DELIVERY

Special Delivery Premiere Will Anchor JOURNY‘s Curated Programming Theme of “Doing Good, Giving Thanks”

Ovation TV, America’s only arts network, is pleased to announce upcoming programming for its award-winning travel-entertainment digital channel, JOURNY. Every month, JOURNY will premiere a new series, supported by a curated theme of diverse programming, talent, and destinations. For November 2021, the theme “Doing Good, Giving Thanks” highlights titles focusing on activism, environmentalism, and doing social good ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. The monthly anchor, a JOURNY premiere, is a docuseries entitled Special Delivery that will be available starting on November 1.

Special Delivery follows intrepid hosts as they endure physical and emotional battles to make difficult and dangerous deliveries to the needy and underprivileged across Asia. Traveling by any means possible through inhospitable terrain, they tackle everything from a cow that won’t budge, to mountain roads that have tragically disappeared. Their hope is to make a difference to communities lacking food, shelter, education, and medicines. Hosts include: architect Khai Saharom (Channel News Asia), presenter Greta Georges (CCTV’s Travelogue), actor-model Paul Foster (Singapore Social), radio DJ Pei Fen (Mediacorp Radio), former radio DJ Daniel Hutchinson (Mediacorp Radio), and actor-model Carla Dunareanu (Kin).

Additional JOURNY titles to be curated especially for the “Doing Good, Giving Thanks” theme include:

Refugee Chef: Behind each dish is a story of survival. Six chefs survived wars in their homeland and sought freedom elsewhere. Some of them didn’t immediately acknowledge their heritage after escaping. They now celebrate family recipes from their home countries, change perceptions, and enrich the cities where they’ve built new lives.

The Green House Effect: In exploring the inspiration behind brilliant buildings and the various energy efficient elements of design, presenter Rob Bell interviews the architects, building owners, and builders. Rob unearths the challenges faced during these buildings’ development and gauges, through carbon reading, how much these buildings are truly assisting the environment.

Gordon Ramsay Shark Bait: In this one-hour special, Gordon Ramsay investigates the history, culture and controversy surrounding the shark fishing industry. Each year, nearly 100 million sharks worldwide are killed for use of their fins in the traditional Chinese delicacy, driving a third of the world’s shark species towards extinction. Gordon also goes diving in an attempt to gain a full understanding of the majestic animal.

Xploration Awesome Planet: Grandson of legendary underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau, host Philippe Cousteau visits diamond and gold mines to see how gems and metals are formed, travels to active volcanoes to observe what happens inside Earth’s burning core, and checks out weather stations in mountainous areas to get an idea of how weather phenomena form in the atmosphere.
